Classic Racing Times
Vintage Celebration
at Pocono Raceway
Long Pond, Pennsylvania

Plans are well underway for the 2019 Vintage Celebration at Pocono, following a successful and record-breaking 2018 event.  Vintage Indy Cars, Championship Cars, selected Sprint Cars and Stock Cars participated in multiple on-track sessions Friday and Saturday, plus parade laps prior to the ABC Supply 500 IndycarSeries race.

1986 Indy 500 winner Bobby Rahal joined us for our Autograph Alley on Saturday.  Super Bowl winning NFL coach Dick Vermeil brought his beautifully-restored vintage race car and his Lombardi Trophy to show to the fans.  Legendary Indycar team manager Jim McGee was on hand along with veteran motorsports writer Gordon Kirby to greet the fans and sign books.

Road Course lapping sessions took place throughout the weekend.  Plus we enjoyed the Sun & Show car show, and the Tricky Challenge for TQ Midgets, Slingshots, Micro-Stocks, and Champ Karts.

The weekend's joy was diminished, of course, by the terrible crash suffered by IndyCar Series driver Robert Wickens during the early laps of the ABC Supply 500, and all of us at the Classic Racing Times join the entire racing community in sending our best wishes to Robert as he continues his recovery.
